General Information A Limited Overview of Policies and Expectations

  • We have a monthly milk/pizza program available to all students. Information and order forms are distributed monthly.
  • Classes will not be interrupted unless it is an emergency.
  • A child will not be left out of an activity due to financial circumstances. Please contact your teacher, or the office. We will confidentially ensure that the needs of all our students are met.
  • Please do not send electronic devices (e.g. cell phones, music players, gameboys, etc...) as the school assumes no responsibility for their loss.
  • If your child walks to school, they are to cross with the crossing guard. Please instruct your child on safety prior to the start of the school year.
  • Please note, the first three parking spots area directly in front of the school is a 15-minutes only parking area. The student pick up area is behind the church, off John Street.

For a more details and a comprehensive list of school policies and expectations, please refer to the 2009-2010 Students Handbook in the front of your child's agenda (or visit the Resources section to download a copy).

Dress Code

Students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate for school. Clothing should always refect modesty and good taste. Soft-soled, non-slip platform shoes designed for safe play must be worn in gym class.

*New* In 2009-2010 Spirit Wear clothing will be available for order. Information will be available on this website or by calling the school office.

Bus Expectations

Transportation by school bus is a privilege and not a right. Behaviour that interferes with the safe operation of the bus or the safety of the other students riding on the bus will not be allowed. Any inappropriate bus behaviour will be dealt with by the Principal (see Bus Handbook - available in the school office).

Visitor Policy

Visitors/Volunteers are always welcome at our school. For student safety, after 9 a.m. all entrances will be locked with the exception of the Hawthorne Avenue door by the office. All visitors must sign in at the office and pick up an identification badge before proceeding into the school. Students and staff have been directed to identify visitors in the school without badges. To avoid embarrassing requests to return to the office, please ensure that you stop for an identification badge.

Safe Arrival Policy

If your child is going to be absent/late for school, please call the office and leave a message on the voice answering system at any time (613) 257-1538. If a child is absent and the school has not been informed, the secretary will be calling home/work to check with you. It is essential that the Student Information form be accurate and up to date.

Code of Conduct Safe Schools

Students are expected to demonstate and follow the teachings of our Catholic Faith.
